雷天雄和方小琪，夏雨和林木是两对邻居夫妻。方小琪因怀疑雷天雄有外遇，一气之下回了娘家。夏雨因为讨厌林木吃猪耳朵，并且也怀疑他们之间出现了第三者，也离家出走。两个失去妻子的人借酒消愁。方回娘家后，遭到父亲的批评，她主动打电话给雷，取得了他的谅解；林木向婚姻咨询小姐倾诉心中的苦闷，表达对夏雨的爱，深深感动了咨询小姐，原来她就是夏雨，两人和好如初。。"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。
