周劍虹（梁朝偉）因母親當年的一段三角戀愛，竟令他出世後不知生父是誰。母親生他時難產而死，他就由兩個父親周榮及鄒有共同撫養。劍虹大學畢業後，先結識女督察謝碧華（翁美玲）及女律師林少文（陳敏兒），兩人均在他心中留下印象。 劍虹在一珠寶公司覓得理想工作後，便努力爭取表現。在一次洽談生意中發現上司及一些同事瞞著公司，從中漁利，遂向董事長楊兆安投訴，因而甚受賞識。 兆安外孫江天偉（呂良偉）經劍虹介紹而認識少文，遂展開追求；與此同時，少文知悉劍虹只視自己為知己，故接受了天偉的愛意。但劍虹、碧華、天偉及少文間感情發展，忽離又合，始終糾纏不清。 此外，兆安無意中查悉周榮竟是他前妻所生的兒子，劍虹便是其孫，大感興奮，決栽培劍虹，讓他日後接管珠寶公司。此事給其子楊志堅知悉，大為憤怒，決要清除異己，實行他的奪權大計…。本片是2017年卡纳达语电影《卧底》（Mufti）的后续，既是续集又是前传。。EXHIBITION ON SCREEN is thrilled to present one of the most talked about exhibitions of the year.
