Subjects of Desire is a thought provoking film that examines the cultural shift in beauty standards towards embracing (or appropriating) Black aesthetics and features, deconstructing what we understand about race and the power behind beauty.。两个自童年已是好朋友的学生一起为功课制作一部短片，二人因剧情需要而接吻。这亲密的一刻引发了一连串事件的连锁反应，由最初一些让他们挥之不去的问题：如他们的爱好，他们的性取向，到后来甚至改变了他们之间友谊的性质和关系，甚至更广泛地改变了他们的社交圈。。在东印度群岛的一次探险中，不仅遇到了他们正在寻找的食人族，还遇到了一个邪恶的科学家和他的僵尸军队...。
