该剧讲述了可爱乐观的田螺姑娘陆玥儿和深情专一的花间城主花亦南发生的有趣爱情故事。。故事从中尉查尔斯·梅森准备回家过圣诞节开始讲起，梅森所坐的飞机途径新奥尔良时因恶劣天气不得不临时降落，在饭店里他被偶然结识的记者拉到夜总会拉斐特之家游玩，并在那里遇到了歌女杰基·拉蒙特（狄安娜·德宾饰）。在与歌女谈话的过程中，梅森得知对方真正的名字是艾比盖尔·莫奈特，是三年前的杀人犯罗伯特·莫奈特（吉恩·凯利饰）的妻子。伴着阴雨连绵的天气，艾比盖尔一点一点向梅森讲述了她和丈夫是如何相遇相爱的，他们曾经幸福的婚姻又是如何染上鲜血渐渐走向破灭的。。Love Island involves a group of contestants, referred to as Islanders, living in isolation from the outside world in a villa in Mallorca, constantly under video surveillance.
