The film follows the title character (Jonigkeit) as he navigates his search for a moral center, after an act of compassion upends his life. Looking to authority figures he encounters along the way — including his eventual cellmate, Gene (LaBeouf) — Henry’s journey leads him down a road of manipulation and ethical uncertainty.。《家风》讲述从50年代初就在一起共过事的省人大常务副主任杨正民与水务厅长牛志浩二人成了亲家。杨正民心胸开阔，为人厚道；牛志浩为人诚实，但心胸狭隘。牛、杨二人的思想境界随着改革开放的深入发展渐渐拉开了距离，在关于子女未来发展的一系列问题上，二人持完全不同的态度。二人离休以后，杨正民当了扶贫协会的会长，牛志浩下海经商。在牛志浩被合作方欺骗出卖的关键时刻，杨正民拉了他一把，牛志浩终于原谅了杨正民，两人演出了一场新时代的“将相和”。。
