江行健和四岁的弟弟江行康的父母突遇空难双双离世，因而与公司大企业董事长的爷爷相依为命。爷爷要求已十七岁的阿健担负起长兄之责，做弟弟的好榜样。阿健一心做一个好哥哥，一个好孙子；然而因弟弟的屡屡闯祸，自己被爷爷一再误解。在舅舅的劝言下，爷爷决定重新认识阿健。正在阿健陶醉于与爷爷刚建立起来的和谐温馨的关系中时，阿康在看父母生前录影带时调皮，将录影带洗掉，四处复原无果。阿健害怕爷爷伤心，遂以酒消愁，回家后被同样醉酒的爷爷发现。后来爷爷决定将其送往私立学校读书，希望他会懂事变好。然而，心中抑郁的阿健在爬往高树的途中因突然而来的弟弟分神而从高处摔下。在阿健弥留之际，爷爷发现阿健那封没有写完的信，祖孙终于重新认识，然而阿健已经永远离去。。The Once-Lers are told by the owner that they can sit on the wagon and that it had better not move.
