They soon find themselves in a world they can only describe as something out of Harry Potter, surrounded...。浮升术（levitation）、心灵致动术（telekinesis）、控制自然甚至预测未来……自从两岁开始，小女孩Bo（Johnny Sequoyah）就拥有这些奇特的能力。她对此既不能完全理解。也不能完全控制。她是被一个小型组织养大的，他们称呼自己「真正的信徒」（True Believer）。她无父无母，养育她的人对她极为谨慎，从不允许不怀好意的外人接触她，更不允许他们利用她的超自然能力达到个人目的。。故事背景是乡下的一个社区，雷特别来到乡下享受一周假期，却发现新搬来的邻居古先生一家行踪怪异，经常昼伏夜出，屋子的气氛亦恐怖得有如鬼屋。此时恰好另一邻居华特先生神秘失踪，雷猜疑是否古做的好事？于是趁古家一家人外出时，亲自摸进古家内一探究竟……。
