The series tells the story of an extended family and four young people who are drawn into the world of ska and two-tone music, which exploded from the grassroots of Coventry and Birmingham in the late 70s and early 80s, uniting black, white, and Asian youths. Against this backdrop, it tells the story...。上海华界和法租界同时发生两起命案，两个看似完全没有交集的死者，却似乎为同一名凶手所害。由于不方便查收华界命案，老虎探长钟朗（吕良伟 饰）在和康华生（徐亮 饰） 犯罪学专家洪小雅（马灿灿 饰）、于胜男（李若斯 饰）、洪小雅（马灿灿 饰）商量后，决定从法租界的死者——退休的巡捕房捕头老薛头入手查起。从遗孀口中，他们得知老薛头死前一直在调查一家多年前毁于大伙的东亚书院。该书院是1900年有日本人创立旨在收养孤儿的慈善机构，但在九一八事变期间秘密迁回日本，而这条线索也勾起钟朗童年的记忆。 极不平常的凶杀案，揭开了一个野心帝国的险恶阴谋……。
