该剧以幽默、诙谐的戏说样式，讲述了南宋末年忽必烈大军一统中国时，南宋临安府（杭州）宰相贾似道以“小虫治国到小虫亡国”的故事。。少年朱元璋自幼贫寒，却为人正直勇武。元至四年， 淮北蝗灾甚重，其父不治而亡。为葬父而自卖其身，至马员外府放牛抵债。其间与马府小姐暗生爱意，后遭马府奸人嫉妒，无奈中只得出家为僧。 不料命途多舛，在皇觉寺又遇恶僧，再次出走。师父海颠告其可投奔隐士刘伯温，以谋大计。 不久，皇觉寺惨遭不测，寺破僧亡，朱元璋只身投奔濠州义军。义军头领郭子兴心胸狭隘，嫉贤妒能。经多次较量，朱元璋摆脱郭子兴，被众将士推举为帅，又联手天下贤人刘伯温，举起义旗。。A rookie flyer, Ens.
