本片根据诺贝尔文学奖获得者海明威的《过河入林》一书改编。《过河入林》是海明威于1949年去意大利旅行和打猎回国之后所写的一部长篇小说，主人公坎特威尔上校身上有作者本人的影子。坎特威尔上校随着年龄的增长，心情日趋颓唐，到威尼斯去打野鸭作消遣，并到意大利北部凭吊过去的战场。他回忆过去的爱情，考虑到死亡的问题，感到孤独绝望。。天時亂序天時易，百歲沉算百歲息。 霪雨蔽世蛟龍起，暗夜絕塵末世期。 轟動武林，魔佛波旬破天而降再度塵寰，梵天一頁書也以烽火關鍵阻擋，兩強衝突，造成前所未有的巨變。波旬三體分離，各自遊走武林，智體迷達以全新面貌回到欲界掌權，而女體女琊則失去記憶，化身俠女霽無瑕行走江湖，遇到退隱多時的殊十二與劍之初。惡體閻達則與一頁書相互纏鬥，最終兩人互擊重創，狀態不明。 妖界變動，黑獄、暗界、百妖路三方風雲色變，妖皇、暗尊相繼身亡，封世末、獄天玄皇也在爭戰過程中隕落，聖嬰主焱無上終於順利復甦，飄浪的妖釋閻摩也為了妖魅三脈開始行動，鬼荒地獄變決定重新回歸。正當妖界一切就序，焱無上卻因大戰重創，力量更意外被三脈吸收，導致生死不明。地獄變跟釋閻摩兩人，要如何扭轉妖界頹勢？ 四奇觀相繼出現，巨魔神被盜，朝天驕身亡，戰雲界因此覆滅。煙都陰謀再起，冰樓遭遇前所未有的危機，雖得龍宿...。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
