Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。失去双亲的街舞者安迪（布莱恩娜·伊维根 Briana Evigan 饰）自小就开始了对街舞的执着练习，她所在的巴尔的摩知名街舞团体410最近完成了“锐舞争霸赛”的视频参赛宣言，而她的监护人因这次出格的视频内容威胁要把她送离此地，幸好在朋友的斡旋下，安迪选择进入马里兰艺术学校学习，保住了眼下的生活。学校里的明星学生查斯（罗伯特·霍夫曼 Robert Hoffman 饰）对安迪颇有兴趣，要求加入锐舞争霸赛却被后者无视。安迪因学业繁重不能兼顾410的训练，终于导致被开除。失意的安迪接受了查斯的邀请，和他物色来的众多校内隐藏的舞蹈高手组成新队伍，向锐舞争霸赛发起冲击……。公司小职员梁景祥（黄又南 饰）为人懦弱，是个时常受气的角色。这日他为公司奔赴某村收地，不料路上被几个恶人暴打，幸有罗新门高徒林良淳（梁小龙 饰）出手相救。梁景祥感佩良淳，追索至罗记茶楼试图拜其为师。罗新门罗新师傅（泰迪罗宾 饰）三十年前名动武林，但因在一次比武中不幸中风昏迷至今，导致罗新门败落，只有首徒陈德成（陈观泰 饰）与林良淳二人勉力维系一门生计，昔日武馆也早已沦为茶楼。 梁景祥的到来，激起了罗新门与庞青（陈慧敏 饰）一派的旧日恩怨；更因特殊身份卷入了罗新门与开发商的冲突。混乱中，昏迷的罗新师傅突然醒转，老师傅的第一个重要决定，便是参加由庞青主办的擂台比赛……。
