There are very few reasons to live when you can't die.。故事开始于1960年代。当今捡破烂的那姑（张少华 饰）贵为皇族，曾是清末的格格，每天路过“稻香村”她都禁不住流口水，看在眼里的女儿马小勤（黄曼 饰）很是心酸，决定在老妈生日时满足她的愿望，不料买点心的六块六毛六分钱被诬为挪用公款，被判刑到北大荒劳改。对小勤心仪已久的高干子弟武越（李乃文 饰）不忍心爱之人单独受苦，也跟着来到北大荒，日久见人心，武越的真诚终于打动了小勤的芳心。小勤的原男友臭子（房子斌 饰）恰好也来到北大荒农场，得知女友移情别恋，设计将小勤骗到手。婚礼当晚，知晓真相的小勤断然反悔，但臭子不顾小勤的反抗将其强暴。数日后，发现自已怀孕的小勤慌了，她不知道这个孩子的父亲是谁......。
